Kinora started in early 2023 when Praewa Suwannarat, a long-time facilitator of community learning groups in Nonthaburi, noticed a gap. Families she worked with often said the same thing: they had plenty of advice from professionals, but nowhere safe to practise what they were learning — to sit together, to listen without jumping in, to figure out where the birth certificate actually was.
The name Kinora comes from a weaving term: the kinora thread is the strand that holds the whole cloth together without drawing attention to itself. That is what Kinora aims to be — not the loudest voice in a family's life, but the quiet connective tissue that helps conversations flow a little more smoothly.
The workshops began as small gatherings of six to eight participants in a rented community hall. Word spread steadily, and by mid-2024 Kinora had moved to its own dedicated space at Soi Ngamwongwan 23. Today the team runs three distinct offerings — the Weaving Conversations Workshop, the Family Records Weave-Together Session, and the Threads Community Membership — each developed carefully from participant feedback and kept firmly within an educational and administrative scope.
Everything Kinora does is grounded in a few plain commitments: be honest about what a workshop can and cannot do, keep the environment pressure-free, and always point people toward qualified professionals and official bodies when a situation calls for it.

Our Small Team
Praewa Suwannarat
Founder & Workshop Lead
Praewa has spent over a decade facilitating community learning programmes across Nonthaburi. She designs all Kinora workshop content and leads the Weaving Conversations sessions.
Nattawut Khamchan
Records & Administration Coordinator
Nattawut leads the Family Records Weave-Together sessions and manages Kinora's internal operations. He brings a background in document management and administrative support.
Siriporn Laohakunakorn
Community & Membership Coordinator
Siriporn runs the Threads Community Membership and moderates the peer space. She ensures all community discussion stays educational, kind, and within clear scope boundaries.
Our Standards & Approach
Clear Scope at All Times
Every session opens with a plain statement of what Kinora offers and what it does not. Participants are always encouraged to consult qualified professionals and official bodies for matters outside our scope.
Group Confidentiality Norms
All group sessions begin with a shared confidentiality agreement. What participants share in the room stays in the room. Personal family matters are never discussed outside the session.
Voluntary Participation
Sharing is always optional. No participant is ever put on the spot. Exercises are designed so that observing is as valid as participating.
Data & Document Care
During records sessions, participant documents are handled with care and returned in full at the end of the session. Kinora does not retain copies of any family document.
Ongoing Facilitator Development
The Kinora team attends external training in facilitation, group dynamics, and communication education on a regular basis to keep the workshop content fresh and well-grounded.
Participant Feedback Loop
After each session, participants are invited to share written feedback. This is reviewed quarterly and used directly to shape and improve future workshop content.
Kinora in the Wider Landscape of Family Wellbeing Education
Across Thailand, families navigate an increasing range of responsibilities and pressures — from managing multi-generational households to keeping on top of paperwork that accumulates over years. Formal channels — social workers, lawyers, financial planners — play a vital role. But there is also real value in educational spaces that sit alongside those channels: places where families can build the everyday habits of listening, sharing, and organising that make everything else easier.
Kinora occupies this complementary space in Nonthaburi. Our workshops draw on broadly accepted frameworks in communication education and group facilitation. The records sessions draw on best practices in household administration. Neither replaces specialised professional input; both help families arrive at those conversations better prepared and more at ease.
