The Records Weave-Together Session did exactly what it says. I had been meaning to sort our household documents for years — certificates, insurance papers, some very old photos. Three hours later, everything was in a labelled folder I could actually find things in. I would say the session ran a little longer than advertised because we brought quite a lot, but the facilitator was patient about it.

I have been a Threads member for about four months now. The monthly workshops are well-organised and the topics are practical — last month was about how to start a conversation rather than avoid it, which is something I genuinely needed. The peer community is monitored closely which I appreciate. Nobody gives advice they are not qualified to give, and the moderator gently redirects when that happens.

What I appreciated most was how clear the facilitators are about what the session is and is not. I have been to events elsewhere that slide into advice-giving territory and it makes me uncomfortable. At Kinora, the scope is stated at the start and held throughout. That honesty makes the educational content land better, paradoxically.

We did the Records Session as a family — me, my wife, and my elderly mother. It took us closer to four hours because Mum had a lot of old documents in Thai and English that we had never catalogued. The folder system they gave us is good. I wish there had been a brief printed guide to maintaining the system going forward, but overall it was worthwhile.

I joined the Threads Membership after attending the one-off workshop and wanting more. The printable guides are genuinely useful — I have used the conversation prompt cards several times with my teenagers. The community is small enough that you actually get to know people a bit, which makes the monthly workshops feel less like a class and more like a regular meeting with familiar faces.

A Multi-Generational Household Finding a Shared Rhythm
The Starting Point
A household of five adults across three generations described conversations that often stalled or escalated without resolution. Mealtimes felt tense and important household decisions kept being deferred.
What Kinora Offered
Three family members attended the Weaving Conversations Workshop together. The focus was on listening practices and a simple structured format for raising topics calmly. They took home printed prompt cards.
What Changed
Participants reported using the prompt cards at their first household meeting after the workshop. Two members later joined the Threads Membership to continue practising. Kinora had no involvement in any specific family decisions — that was for the family and, where relevant, professionals to navigate.

Turning a Box of Loose Documents Into a Usable Folder
The Starting Point
A couple in their fifties had a large box of household documents accumulated over twenty-five years — identity papers, property-related documents, old insurance policies, letters, and family photographs. They knew it needed sorting but had never found the time or the method.
What Kinora Offered
They attended the Records Weave-Together Session with the box. Over approximately four hours, a Kinora facilitator guided them through the lay-out, sort, label, and consolidate sequence using the folder materials provided.
What Changed
They left with a complete, labelled folder set covering six categories. Documents that needed attention from a lawyer or government office were identified and set aside — Kinora provided a brief note on the types of services that handle such matters, but took no further action.
